| Title | National Language Service Corps Recruitment Begins |
| Body | The National Language Service Corps (NLSC) is a civilian corps of volunteers with certified expertise in languages important to the security and welfare of the United States. Run by the Department of Defense, the corps is to consist of volunteers willing to serve as on-call Federal employees. The NLSC is an integral component of the Department of Defense Language Transformation Plan and the President's National Security Language Initiative. Recruitment will continue over the next two years. Currently, the languages for which volunteers are sought, are: Mandarin Chinese, Hausa, Somali, Swahili, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Russian.
