| Body | The International School of Tucson seeks to appoint a Head of Pre-School to lead our international language-based program for children aged 3-5. The Head of Pre-School is a new position within a successful and growing school, reporting directly to the Head of School, and the ideal candidate will possess a number of attributes drawn from the following Personal Profile. S/he will : * have a degree in any subject (Masters preferred) * have at least five years' relevant experience (some leadership experience preferred) * have experience in Language Acquisition techniques (communicative approaches, particularly Functional, preferred) * have experience in skills-based learning (experiential learning, outcome-based instruction), using learning centers and inquiry-based learning * have experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) * have experience in the new NAEYC accreditation protocol (experience of other whole-school accreditation protocols desirable) * have experience in getting things done * be orally fluent in English and at least two other languages currently taught at the School (Chinese, French, German, Spanish) * be at least biliterate (if not triliterate) in English and one or two other languages currently taught at the School (Chinese, French, German, Spanish) * be self-confident, self-resourceful and self-reliant * be positive, enthusiastic and outgoing * be adaptable and will welcome challenges * have excellent interpersonal and communication skills * be honest and reliable and have high ethical standards * be willing to step in where needed and get his/her hands dirty * and will have stamina, perseverance and a strong work ethic The position is effective with the 2008/2009 school year, and will commence by mutual agreement in July 2008. Compensation is locally highly competitive.
