TitleAP Spanish Language Research Study
Body
The College Board Advanced Placement Program (AP) is conducting a research study to evaluate the use of various standard-setting methods for AP Spanish Language. Standard setting involves determining one or more cutscores to place examinees into various categories (e.g., pass/fail; qualified/well qualified, etc.). For the AP Exams, the categories are the traditional AP 1 through 5 score levels. The process of standard setting requires judgments from a panel of experts who have content knowledge in the area of exam and who know the examinee population (i.e., understand what students should know and be able to do after completing the AP course or the equivalent college course).

The College Board is seeking experienced AP Spanish teachers who are interested in participating in this research study by serving on the standard-setting panel for AP Spanish Language. The panel will meet for three days in New York City on April 10–12. All travel and lodging expenses will be covered by the College Board and you will be paid an honorarium in the amount of $1,500. Participation for all three days of the meeting is required. If selected, you will be trained on the specific standard-setting methods being evaluated during the three-day meeting.

If you are interested and available to participate, please provide the College Board with information about yourself by completing a brief questionnaire. This information will be used to make sure those selected to serve on the Advanced Placement standard-setting panel are as representative as possible of AP Spanish Language teachers. Please complete the questionnaire by December 20. You will be notified of the final selections by January 15.

The questionnaire is available at http://click.collegeboard.com/101646582.70559.0.28915 .
