| Body | Avant Assessment (formerly Language Learning Solutions) is a leader in Web-based second-language assessment, and is partnered with the Center for Applied Second Language Studies at the University of Oregon. There is an opening for a Test Development Manager. Responsibilities: Manage multiple test-development projects for online tests of foreign language proficiency. Typical work-related activities will include: o Plan, direct and supervise various test-development activities including procurement of foreign language reading texts, passage rating activities, item writing, quality assurance reviews, field testing, item selection, and test form construction. o Supervise key project personnel, including native speakers of target language, passage raters, item writers, editors, and external reviewers. o Conduct training workshops for passage raters and item writers. o Participate in performance evaluation of project team members. o Develop and implement project management schedules and staffing plans as required to achieve project benchmarks. o Provide regular status reports to Director of Test Development. Minimum qualifications: o Academic and/or professional background in educational measurement, second language acquisition, foreign language education. Master's degree a plus. o Bilingual o Professional experience in large-scale test development preferred. o Experience in team leadership and/or project management. o Ability to work with diverse groups on complex projects. o Self-directed and well organized with strong attention to detail. o Ability to prioritize tasks and manage personnel to meet deadlines under pressure. o Intermediate to advanced skills in MSWord and Excel. Willingness and ability to learn new computer programs as needed. o Ability to travel on an occasional basis.
