TitleMaking a Roman Water Clock

Here is an idea from a Latinteach user for how students can make an inexpensive water clock:

Use a 2 liter bottle and cut it in half. Keep the lid on the top half of the bottle. Poke a hole in the top of the lid, put the top half of the bottle inside the bottom half, fill up the top half with water, and let the water drip down into the bottom. Write with sharpie when it gets to one minute, etc.

I gave my kids clear plastic cups and challenged them to make their own water clocks. Make sure you have a jug of water in the room so they don't keep leaving to get water, and make sure you have paper towels!
