TitleReview Activity Idea with Playdough
Body
An AATG listserv user suggests the following use of playdough to review the previous year’s vocabulary:

I gave each student a card (or two depending on time) with a vocabulary word from last year on it (review). Most were nouns, but some were verbs and some were adjectives (a little trickier, I know!). The students could not look at anyone else’s card. They had to then "sculpt" the word that was on the card out of playdough and leave it on their desk (I gave them three minutes).

Then as a class we "took a tour of the museum." I was the guide and "escorted" them from "exhibit" to "exhibit" (desk to desk, creation to creation) in German and at each one I simply asked "Und was ist das?" The students had to come up with the German word. It was great fun guessing what had been created (some students are obviously more gifted than others when it come to art!) and that had the added benefit of not only reviewing the words that were created (that were on the cards), but some others along the way.

After they were finished, I collected the cards and at the very end of the period (last two minutes) ran through them again to see if the students knew them...and they did!
