TitleOnline TV Recorder
Body
Online TV Recorder allows German teachers to search through available German TV shows and download them for their own use. Here is some advice for its use from AATG listserv users:

Just go to this site and register... it’s free: http://www.onlinetvrecorder.com . There have been continuous improvements to the site that make it easier to use. Once you are registered look through the EPG table and find something you want to record and click on it. Once it’s recorded you can download it and decode it with the decoder that you will also have to download from OTR. There are 42 channels available and you will need a hi speed connection because the files are large, anywhere from 2 or 3 hundred megabytes to over 900 for "Wetten, daß...?"

The "OTR_info.ppt" file should be helpful but I need to mention that OTR has changed the interface a few times since I made that PowerPoint. That means that the screen shots will look differently but the set up is basically the same. The PowerPoint is available at http://www.wawasee.k12.in.us/education/components/docmgr/default.php?sectiondetailid=587&fileitem=946&catfilter=180&PHPSESSID=6261803eced4e313abc59428228cd53b .

One big caveat: if you have a PC, use Firefox for your browser. OTR and IE don't play nicely together. IE usually blocks the downloads of the shows.
