| Body | From http://www.nysaflt.org/index2.htm New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers & Classical Association of the Empire State Annual Meeting Conference Dates: October 12 - 14, 2007 Conference Location: Rochester, New York This year's joint Annual Meeting held by NYSAFLT and Classical Association of the Empire State (CAES) is an opportunity to present and discuss workshops, applied research, and important issues in foreign language education. This year's theme is Languages: Connecting Students to the World. Carol Bellamy, President and CEO of World Learning, President of the School for International Training, and Former Executive Director of UNICEF, will be the keynote speaker. More than 600 foreign language professionals are expected to attend over 90 workshops focusing on topics such as Meeting the NYS Standards, Total Physical Response Storytelling (TPRS), Advanced Placement Examinations, Music and Cinema in the classroom, Increasing Time on Task, and Strategies for the Non-Native Language Teacher. Some workshops will be offered in French, Spanish, German, Italian or Latin. There will also be a variety of swap shops, cultural updates and panel discussions.
