More than 500,000 visitors attended in 1997, and this year even more visitors are expected since it will be running parallel with the documenta 12 exhibition in Kassel, Germany. This year’s curators have chosen thirty-six artists to participate. These artists will come from all over the world to accept the challenge of creating and installing a work of art within the confines of the city of Münster. For 105 days the city is transformed into a living exhibition space, where visitors, identified by their skulptur projekte maps, are seen moving from one artwork to another, hypnotized by their art treasure hunt.
