| Body | From http://linguistlist.org/issues/18/18-1178.html The Finnish Association of Applied Linguistics (AFinLA) AFinLA Autumn Symposium 2007 Language and Globalization Kouvola November 9-10, 2007 The annual Autumn Symposium of the Finnish Association of Applied Linguistics (AFinLA) is to be held in Kouvola, Finland, on November 9-10, 2007. The theme is 'Language and Globalization', which covers all sub-fields of Applied Linguistics. Papers are sought related to the first and second language teaching and learning as well as applied language research and questions of language politics. Traditionally, the majority of the papers are presented in Finnish. However, because of the need to attract more international participants, it is hoped that there will be a number of presentations in English. Swedish is Finland's second language so Swedish language papers are also sought. The deadline is September 8, 2007. More information is available at http://rosetta.helsinki.fi/AFinla.html .
