The Department of Linguistics at the University of California, San Diego (http://ling.ucsd.edu ) invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Heritage Korean. The lectureship is 33% to 100% time, for the full academic year beginning July 1, 2007, and ending June 30, 2008 with possibility of extension. Classes are intended for heritage speakers with good comprehension skills, varying degrees of fluency and literacy, and significant non-native features in their output. All lectureships involve teaching classes devoted to either communicative and cultural competence or to linguistic analysis of the language of instruction. In addition to instruction and grading, responsibilities also include designing course syllabi, preparing all course materials (including exams), and attending HLP meetings during the academic year and the annual HLP fall workshop prior to the start of classes in September.
