| Body | Call for Proposals for Central States 2008 in Dearborn, Michigan Conference Theme: Turning Today's Students Into Tomorrow's Stars Conference Date: March 6-8, 2008 Place: Dearborn, Michigan (Detroit area) Deadline for Proposals: April 15, 2007 Web site: centralstates.cc We would like to issue a challenge to all of you hardworking, determined, and committed teachers out there to share some of your successful strategies and techniques with us at our 2008 conference. Some suggested topics of interest: * motivating reluctant learners * new methods and techniques * differentiated instruction * teaching study skills * dealing with children of poverty * communicating with and assisting parents * classroom management: rewards, discipline, grading systems, etc. Foreign language will soon become a requirement for graduation in Michigan and foreign language teachers will be soon be seeing even more unmotivated students in their classes. How are other teachers in other states with such requirements dealing with this challenge?
