South Russia State Technical University warmly invites everybody to take part in the international conference on theoretical and practical aspects of foreign language teaching, particularly in the context of tertiary institutions that offer science, engineering, and commerce majors as opposed to humanities. Papers relating to any of the following areas of inquiry are welcome. Please note that the following is intended to illustrate some of the ways in which the conference themes might be made concrete. It is not, however, intended to be a complete list: 1. Foreign language pedagogy at the tertiary level 2. Foreign language curricular for technical university students 3. Teaching foreign languages in technical universities: theory of translation, translation practice, foreign language for specific purposes, linguistics of foreign text 4. Innovative techniques and methods in teaching foreign languages 5. Theoretical and practical questions of cross-cultural communication 6. The role of foreign languages in forming a professional 7. Foreign language competence in the course of professional development of specialists 8. Integration of humanitarian and technical knowledge as the educational environment basis for a technical university Working languages: Russian, English, German.
