| Title | Job: Proficiency Testing in Critical Languages |
| Body | From http://jobcentral.actfl.org/jobdetail.cfm?job=2476197.32 ACTFL has been contracted by the Defense Language Institute to provide proficiency testing support. This project is part of a greater initiative to increase the U.S. government’s ability to provide accurate and reliable testing in a number of essential languages for government agencies. ACTFL is recruiting native speakers of specific critical languages to participate in training workshops. The languages are: Afrikaans, Egyptian Arabic, Iraqi Arabic, Lebanese Arabic, Bengali, Cebuano, Chavacano, Dari, Haitian Creole, Indonesian, Malay, Pashto, Slovak, Somali, Tagalog, Thai, and Urdu. Participants are paid by ACTFL to attend the workshop and to complete the post workshop qualification process. Upon successful completion of the training and qualification process, qualified testers will have the opportunity to earn extra money by conducting telephonic oral proficiency tests, on an as needed basis from their own home or office. A willingness to learn new skills and proficiency in the target languages equivalent to an educated native speaker are required. A good command of English is desired.
