| Body | STEP INTO GERMAN with MUSIC IN THE CLASSROOM Explore German rock, pop, and hiphop. Listen to the music of Juli, Wise Guys, Die Prinzen, 2raumwohnung, Sportfreunde Stiller, and many more! Watch videoclips of some of Germany's top hits. Downloadable "Kopiervorlagen" will help you use the songs in the classroom. A music contest with fabulous prizes such as study trips to Germany and iPods loaded with German music is waiting for your students. In 2005, AATG, the California Language Teachers Association (CLTA) and Goethe-Institut San Francisco launched the initiative "Step into German." Its goal was to bring the excitement of the Soccer World Cup to schools in California while at the same time promoting the study of German among Middle and High School students. In the new year, "Step into German" will go nationwide with the second phase of the project: Music from Germany. We would like to invite all German teachers to preview our website. Quite a bit of construction work still needs to be done (there will be a separate section for "Musik im Unterricht"; the music clips will be more easily accessible etc.) but we're hoping that over the holidays you find the time to check out all Step into German has to offer: www.stepintogerman.org Let us know what you think!
