| Body | From http://studentorgs.utexas.edu/flesa/texflec/tex2007/Call_Sub.htm 8th Annual Texas Foreign Language Education Conference TexFLEC 2007: Theory in Practice: Innovative Approaches to Teaching and Research in Second/Foreign Language Education CALL FOR PROPOSALS The theme of our graduate student conference this year includes innovative approaches to technology, classroom strategies, principles of instruction, and methods of research. Proposals for presentations of papers are requested in the following areas: second/foreign language acquisition, language pedagogy, assessment & evaluation, language & culture, language & technology, literacy, applied linguistics, bilingual education, and sociolinguistics. We encourage the exploration of progressive practices and ideas, ones that apply current theory and promote interdisciplinary research in the field of Foreign Language Education. Submission Deadline is January 16, 2007. The Conference will be March 30-31, 2007, with keynote presentations by Dr. Douglas Brown, San Francisco State University, and Dr. Anna Chamot, George Washington University. Selected proceedings from the conference will be published in Texas Papers in Foreign Language Education, the Foreign Language Education Program's journal.
