Job Description:
Japanese / English Two-way immersion school (90/10 model) has employment possibilities.
o Christian School
o Students: 50% Japanese native speakers, 50% English native speakers
o Current enrollment is 110 students, ages 2 _ - 12.
o Language of instruction:
3-5 year-olds: 90% Japanese 10% English
1st-2nd grades: 64% Japanese 36% English
3rd grade: 56% Japanese, 44% English
4th grade: 53% Japanese 47% English
5-6th grades: 50% Japanese 50% English

o General duties
Provide a caring and Christian educational environment for all students as is set forth in the school's mission statements.

o Teaching responsibilities
Teach English language arts/ social studies or other subjects in English on regular school days including Observation Day twice a year as well as the annual Open House on Saturday.
o Administrative and other duties
1. Attend weekly English Dept meeting
2. Participate on school committees
3. Assist in ordering books and materials for the English department
4. Speak periodically at the elementary and or kindergarten worship services
5. Organize and lead the annual school trip to Washington DC/ Boston
6. Write articles for school in newsletter and English Education Annual Report
7. Help organize other school events/ volunteer activities (some on Saturdays)
8. Hold parent/teacher conferences; class conferences
9. Attend general staff meetings(twice a month), elementary departmental meetings weekly
10. Orientations, guidance conferences

Requirements:
o K-6th certification preferred
o TESOL certification preferred
o Knowledge of Japanese language and culture preferred
