Body | From http://www.eastasia.wisc.edu/K16Outreach/Workshops.html Using Anime & Manga in K-16 Japanese Language Classrooms February 10, 2007 (Saturday) Van Hise Hall, 1220 Linden Drive A language pedagogy workshop for K-16 Japanese language teachers focused on strategies and processes of incorporating Anime, Manga, and other cultural products in the Japanese language classroom and designing classroom activities that enhance student's communication skills and cultural understanding. Presenters will be: Yasuko Ito Watt (coordinator of the Japanese language program at Indiana University), Michael J. Peterson (former board member and President of the National Council of Japanese Language Teachers, teacher at Harrison and McCutcheon High Schools and Tippecanoe County Schools as well as Purdue University extension services, Ivy Technical College and Indiana University- Kokomo), and Steve Clark Ridgely (Assistant Professor of Japanese Literature at UW-Madison). Registration deadline: January 26, 2007.
