TitlePeer Tutoring Program Suggestion
Body
This idea from a German teacher could be useful with any multi-level language program for learners of high school age and above.

----

Last week I started something I've always wanted to have: a Peer Tutoring Program in German. I asked my German National Honor Society students who among them would be interested (I also had it announced during the morning announcements since I don't see all my students this semester). I had told the GNHS students that participating in the PTP was something else they could put on their college applications (since I have many seniors). I had six students who were interested.

One came after school Friday to help one of my German I boys who had been out sick for 2 weeks. My peer tutor was wonderful! He worked with the student for 35 mins. in my room while I entered grades. I could hear what he was saying and could have intervened, if necessary, but it wasn't.

It was wonderful not only for me to be able to catch up, but also for my GNHS student to be helping my German I boy and doing such an excellent job of it.
