Title | Support legislation for 2004-05 as Year of Foreign Language Study |
Body | From the Friends of International Education listserv (http://www.friendsofinternationaled.org): Senators Dodd and Cochran are sponsoring a resolution, "Designating the years 2004 and 2005 as Years of Foreign Language Study" in support of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages' (ACTFL)project proclaiming 2004-05 as the "Year of Languages" in the United States. Please contact your state senators to request that they co-sponsor this resolution. The resolution specifically requests that "the President issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to encourage and support initiatives to promote and expand the study of foreign languages."
