TitleCognate Story Eases (Re-)Introduction into German
Body
Somebody recently asked about easy stories for starting in German; I was happy to see that somebody in reply mentioned the little old graded reader, book 1, "Allerlei", by Peter Hagboldt, which I was going to suggest.

I found a file from last year that I had copied from a Web site that contained much or perhaps all of Allerlei, put on the Web by Dr. Ronald C. Warner, Professor of German, Ball State University, who also apparently 'didacticized' it with notes and questions. The link still works: http://www.bsu.edu/csh/languages/program/facpages/lesestof.htm

I still remember the way even graduate students', who had to take a crash course to pass a test in German, eyes lit up with happy amazement when they started reading Allerlei.
