| Body | From: "Yukiko Abe Hatasa" Lecturer of Japanese: The University of Iowa The Department of Asian Languages and Literature at the University of Iowa invites applications for a three-year renewable position in Japaneselanguage at the Lecturer level starting August 2004. The initial appointment is a non-tenure-track one-year position, renewable for two additional years, and has the potential for reappointment beyond three years. The successful candidate must have native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and English, have excellent teaching credentials, and be able to teach all levels of Japanese language courses. Experience in supervising and training TAs is desirable. Teaching responsibilities will include two multi-section language courses and two single section language courses per year. He/she is expected to work with the existing faculty members in course development and coordination, and take leadership role in service activities such as the speech contest. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
