| Title | Call for Papers: Publishing and Presenting Research Internationally: Issues for Speakers of English as an Additional Language |
| Body | From http://webpages.ull.es/users/ppriseal January 11-13, 2007 Tenerife, Spain This international conference hosted by the Department of English and German Philology, the Faculty of Philology (University of La Laguna) and the Andres Bello Institute of Linguistics will bring together researchers and professionals working in the fields of academic publishing and editing, English for Academic and Professional Purposes and Translation Studies. While abstracts on a wide range of topics will be considered, we are particularly interested in presentations related to the following topics: - Analysis of academic discourse (e.g., genre analysis, corpus based studies, contrastive analysis) - EAP pedagogy (e.g., classroom applications of EAP research, EAP materials design, evaluation of EAP programmes and methodologies) - Globalization of academic discourse (e.g., access to resources for publication and presentation, case studies of scholars on the periphery, mentoring, World Englishes in academic publication) - Editing and translating academic discourse (e.g., editing and translating services, training and professional development of editors and translators, role relations between authors and their editors and translators) Deadline for receipt of abstracts: 15 September 2006.
