TitleCall for Papers: Essays on Technology in the Second and Foreign Language Classroom

I am writing to solicit papers for a possible publication of collected essays on technology in the second and foreign language classroom. Possible topics include:

- Technology and culture;
- Effects of technology on reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary development and acquisition, grammar accuracy, discourse, etc.;
- Learning styles and strategies;
- Learner autonomy (including motivation and attitude);
- Curricular design;
- Instant messaging and/or email;
- Threaded discussion; blogging, vlogging;
- Virtual learning environments, learning communities, MUDs, and MOOs;
- Tandem learning, collaboration, and building communities;
- Podcasts;
- Videoconferencing;
- Sociolinguistic competence; and
- Course management systems, testing, and assessment

Final papers should be between 6,000-8,500 words, although other lengths will be considered. Please send contact information and either a paper proposal, abstract, or letter of interest by email by June 25, 2006. For more information, please feel free to contact me at the addresses below.
