As class sizes are reduced to meet state requirements, the number of foreign language classes in Georgia public schools is also shrinking in response to budget cuts. While Atlanta has been able to retain some French and Spanish courses at the elementary level, other districts consider themselves lucky to offer foreign languages in one school.
