| Body | Last Wednesday an agreement was signed by the director-general of China's National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and the president of the College Board of the United States which addresses the need for more Chinese programs, teachers, materials, and professional development opportunities in the US. While millions of Chinese study English, the number of American learners of Chinese is far smaller, and research shows that interest in the language is sharply increasing.
