| Title | Call for Papers: The 10th New Zealand Language and Society Conference |
| Body | From http://www.ling.canterbury.ac.nz/LAS2006/call.html The 10th New Zealand Language and Society Conference August 19th-20th 2006, Christchurch Arts Centre Plenary Speaker: Gerry Docherty, University of Newcastle upon Tyne The Department of Linguistics at the University of Canterbury is pleased to announce that the 10th New Zealand Language and Society Conference will be held on August 19th-20th 2006 at the Christchurch Arts Centre. The conference will begin with a wine and cheese reception on the evening of August 18th. We now invite submissions for presentations on all aspects of Language and Society. Papers presented in the general sessions will be 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions. We particularly encourage student submissions, including presentations of work in progress. There will be a dedicated student session, with papers that are 15 minutes, plus 5 minutes for questions. Abstracts should be emailed to lingsoc@canterbury.ac.nz by May 1, 2006. |
