TitleSummer Programs for German Students
Body
A recent request on the AATG listserv for summer abroad programs for high school students received the following suggestions.

Goethe-Institut summer courses: http://www.goethe.de/ins/de/spr/kuj/jug/deindex.htm .

----

I would like to add the program with which I am involved. Although this is a program for college students we have occasionally taken along a high school student or two. We offer intermediate German and advanced level courses. The program, which takes place in Münster and includes two trips, has been around for over thirty years and is sponsored by Vassar College, the College of William and Mary and Sweet Briar College. Students are housed in Munster with families while they are taking their two courses. If you are interested, take a look at our website. http://www.german.sbc.edu/munsterprogram.html

Dear Colleagues,

Do you have students interested in going to Germany this summer? It's not too late! Consider AATG's German Summer-Study Program for High School Students. Students travel in a small group, along with an American teacher of German as chaperone, and spend three weeks attending classes at a Gymnasium (academic high school), living with a German host family, and participating in excursions to places of cultural and historic significance. Course sites: Alzey; Bad Arolsen; Berlin; Beilngries; Braunschweig; Wiesbaden.

Dates/cost: June 10-July 2 from Chicago ($2,700); June 23-July 15 from Newark/Philadelphia ($2,600);June 23-July 15 from San Francisco ($2,800). Cost includes transatlantic airfare on Lufthansa. More detailed information and application forms available on our website: http://www.aatg.org/programs/hsstudentprogs/summer_study/index.html

Application deadline extended to April 17. Late applications may be accepted on a space-available basis. Please share this information with your students and their parents! Thank you!
