The editors of this volume, who are all affiliated with Karl- Franzens-Universität in Graz (the first named editor is, in addition, a PhD student at the University of Manchester), were also the organizers of the conference. The volume consists of 15 papers on Romani, an Indo-Aryan language spoken by Roms and related groups (''Gypsies'') in Europe and beyond, plus an ''Introduction'' (pp. 1-6) by two of the editors, Barbara Schrammel and Dieter W.
