The 4 1/2-day intensive TEXAS FLES INSTITUTE is being held at The Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas and offers a beautiful setting for instruction, networking and hands-on activities. The goals and objectives of the TEXAS FLES INSTITUTE include:

- presentation and practice of a wide variety of FLES classroom oriented activities
- individual assistance with curriculum development and assessment
- "make and take" production of teaching materials
- assistance with planning successful FLES programs
- overview of FLES methodology for all levels
- awareness of FLES programs across the USA
- small group discussions

Structured activities for participants run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a practicum (hands-on) from 4:00 - 5:00, plus some evening activities. The session includes a variety of presentations with participants' involvement in a wide range of activities reflecting FLES methodology,"make and take" sessions, guest speakers, field trips, "Share Fair", computer software applications, optional visits to the Meadows Museum and the Dallas Museum of Art (time permitting), and an Exhibitor's session.
