| Body | From http://www.fulbrightexchanges.org/View/ViewOtherOpps.asp Brazil Principal Seminar August 2006 The Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to provide an opportunity for U.S. award-winning public school principals of middle and high schools to learn more about the Brazilian educational system, visit Brazilian schools, and interact with Brazilian administrators, teachers, and students. Award-winning principals from more than 20 Brazilian states will join U.S. counterparts to share best practices in school leadership and administration, teacher development, and community involvement. PROGRAM ACTIVITIES: * Opening Orientation session on Brazilian educational system held in Sao Paolo, including discussion of the Brazilian Principals of the Year Award Program; * U.S. Principals will be paired with award-winning Brazilian Administrators and travel to two different Brazilian states to visit various schools for one week of observation and work-shadowing; * Award-winning principals from the 27 Brazilian states will join U.S. counterparts to share best practices in school leadership and management. At the end of their stay in Brazil, U.S. principals will be asked to make a presentation on their experience as administrators within the U.S. education system.
