Students at the Gray Academy of Jewish Education in Winnipeg, Canada are not learning Hebrew by memorizing relatively meaningless phrases, but rather by solving problems and discussing relevant issues in the language. Using a curriculum created by Hebrew University in Israel for North American schools, the Academy is using immersion techniques, with students studying some subjects in English and others in Hebrew.
