| Body | The program Crossword Forge is absolutely the best program I've used, and I've used them all. It makes neat crosswords (with FL support -- you can choose the language) and word search puzzles, to which you can add background images, choose your colors, fonts, etc., etc. But what's really neat is their new beta program that allows you to publish your crosswords to the web in an interactive format. I just tried it out, and love it -- no more xeroxing for puzzles for me! It's available for both platforms. Here's their sample puzzle on astronomy (about which I know nothing, but which will let you see how it works) -- note the links at upper left that let you get hints, and the counter and "send me a message" at the bottom so students could comment or report in, or whatever: http://www.solrobots.com/crosswordforge/live I don't remember what the program costs -- $35??-- but it's worth every penny.
