Cash grants for education Each year WaMu supplies funds for the professional development of teachers, leadership training for principals, organizational development for schools, and programs that provide information about school performance to parents. Teacher professional development Washington Mutual has formed a partnership with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards* to help teachers achieve their professional goals. We support and recognize teachers who pursue professional certification through the Board with scholarships and other support. Teacher recruitment We support programs to attract and keep talent in the classroom. We focus on recruitment programs that target recent college graduates and mid-career professionals.
