TitleRecommended Text for German for Adults
BodyA recent request on the AATG listserv for recommendations for materials appropriate for adult learners of German received the following replies.

If it's a conversation class and not too heavy, I've used German in 10 Minutes a Day. Not too expensive, easily found at bookstores and presents all the basic topics with room to add one's own practice.

Berliner Platz is a new textbook series for adults. The book consists of the textbook/workbook portion and an audio CD for the workbook exercises. Students could buy half of the program (designed for shorter courses). You can find an overview of the topics here:

http://www.langenscheidt.de/deutsch/lehrwerke/daf/berliner_platz/lehrer_01.html

The shortened version of the book comes at a very reasonable price ($12.95); additionally, there are many online projects which were developed for the individual lessons and which are free of charge. If you are interested, please let me know.
