Language and Culture for International Business:
A Workshop for Foreign Language Faculty
February 23-25, 2006

This workshop offers participants valuable insights into the relationship between foreign language and international business, discusses how to develop a business language curriculum, and explores the resources available to the foreign language educator interested in this new and exciting field. Above all, this workshop will serve as a unique forum for the exchange of ideas among participants.

Participants may attend one of the following four language-specific workshops:

FRENCH
Dr. Steven Loughrin-Sacco, San Diego State University
Dr. Will Thompson, University of Memphis

GERMAN
Dr. Bettina Cothran, Georgia Institute of Technology
Dr. Monika Nenon, University of Memphis

SPANISH
Dr. Michael Doyle, University of North Carolina, Charlotte
Dr. Bruce Fryer, University of South Carolina

JAPANESE
Dr. Robert Russell, Brigham Young University
Dr. Yuki Matsuda, University of Memphis

A limited number of CIBER Scholarships ($200) are available to assist faculty in attending the workshop. These scholarships have been provided by the cosponsoring CIBER institutions.
