| Title | New Jersey Expands Bilingual Programs |
| Body | About 20% of New Jersey's public school students come from homes where English is not the primary language, and about two-thirds of them speak Spanish. The state's school districts with ten or more English-language learners are required to provide them with an ESL program, and those with 20 students with the same native language must create a bilingual program for them. Currently, bilingual programs exist for speakers of diverse languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Polish, and Arabic.
