TitleRecitations for Spanish Beginners
Body
A recent discussion on the FLTEACH listserv regarding recitations for beginning students of Spanish generated the following suggestions.

----

Treinta dias tiene noviembre.Treinta abril, junio, y septiembre. Veinte y ocho tiene uno. Y los demas treinta y uno.

What about the cheer:

Si qui ti bum a la bim bom ba
a la bío a la bao a la bim bom ba
Troyanos, Troyanos, ra ra ra.

(Troyanos = whatever your team mascot might be.) I was at a gathering where Dolores Huerta spoke 2 weeks ago, and at the end, a group in the audience started this cheer, ending it "Dolores, Dolores, ra ra ra." There are wonderful trabalenguas available on the Internet. My favorite (from pre-Internet days) is

Paco Peco, chico rico,
insultaba como un loco
a su tío Federico.
Y él le dijo,
Poco a poco, Paco Peco, poco pico.

There is a wealth of folk literature available! Search for trabalenguas and rimas infantiles.

I learned two songs in Spanish 3 that, to this day, have helped me to never forget the uses of por y para. I am pretty sure that my teacher composed them herself, unless anyone has heard them before. I would like to share them with you:

PARA (sung to the tune of 'The Beverly Hillbillies')

"Destined person, place and time,
In order to, In order to become,
On the verge of, considering,
Purpose or use
Best use para...para that is!"

POR (sung to the tune of 'We Three Kings')

"Pray for, pay for, thank for-use por
For the sake of, in exchange for
Motive, cause, in place of, duration
By, in, through, for...use por"

What about some tongue twisters? I Googled the word trabalenguas and there's a bunch of sites including
