Title | England Moves toward Foreign Language Education in Primary Schools |
Body | England recently announced plans for teacher funding and training that will enable all students from seven to eleven years of age to study foreign languages. The decision came after a study found that language teachers there lack confidence in both linguistic competence and teaching methodology. While many are concerned over English students' lack of foreign language skills, legislation went into effect in September of this year allowing students over 14 to stop studying foreign languages.
