Title | Report Stresses Importance of Mother Tongue Education |
Body | A new report compiled by organizations including the Unesco (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Institute for Education states that students who learn content in a second language should not begin doing so until grade seven in order to ensure adequate mother tongue education. This goes against methods employed in parts of the world such as Africa's Westerm Cape, where native-language instruction only continues through Grade 3.
