A recent post to the FLTEACH listserv requesting suggestions for teaching students with ADD in the foreign language classroom received several suggestions. Among them were the Web site and messages below.

It is polite to refer to the person first, for example, a "student with ADD", instead of the other way around. Referring to the disorder or disease first takes away the identity of the person or people in question.
