| Title | Call for Papers: Conceptions of Childhood and Young Womanhood |
| Body | American Association of Teachers of German 2006 November 17-19, Nashville, TN "Vor dem Erwachen": Conceptions of Childhood and Young Womanhood Session sponsored by the Coalition of Women in German This panel seeks papers that analyze narratives of childhood, adolescence, maidenhood, etc. across the ages. We are particularly interested in highlighting gender-specific issues in their historical and social contexts. We envision contributions examining sources that may include: medical & hygiene literature, pedagogical treatises, comportment manuals, children's literature & fairy tales, autobiography & memoir.
