Body | For foreign-born residents, language skills are a key component of successful immigration, particularly in spheres such as employment. France's state secretary for social cohesion and women's rights recently announced plans to add the passing of a French language test to the requirements for a 10-year residence permit. Germany, Austria and Denmark have passed similar laws, but most EU states have no such requirement.
