Body | Ten California school districts charged the state this month with not providing the valid and reliable tests that would meet state laws on accurate testing practices. The districts want content tests to be provided in students' native languages so that language proficiency does not affect performance. Critics state that providing tests in all the represented languages would be costly, but 11 states are already using the native-language tests.
