Title | Teaching ESL to Visually Impaired Students |
Body | We have an article on our teaching English website on this subject: http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/think/methodology/blind.shtml You could also have a look at: http://www.britishcouncil.org/languageassistant If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, on the right hand corner of the screen you will see a link to a browser plugin from a company called BrowseAloud. If you download it ( about 5MB) and install it on your computer (it's free) it will enable you to click on areas of text and the plugin will read the text to you. The voice isn't perfect, but it's not bad either and can be really helpful for the visually impaired. Peachey, N. Re: Teaching ESL to visual impaired students.
