| Body | From: http://www.ncela.gwu.edu/enews/2005/0524.htm#SymposiumOn University of North Texas Dallas, Texas June 11, 2005 Pre-registration runs until June 3, 2005 The Bilingual/ESL Teacher Education Program within the University of North Texas's (UNT's) College of Education will sponsor the first annual Symposium on Second Language Acquisition and Diversity, to be held at UNT's Dallas Campus on June 11, 2005. The symposium is designed to be a forum for discussion and learning that focuses on improving education for the growing number of English language learners in North Texas schools. In addition to several speakers, the symposium will include a variety of small group sessions discussing such topics as successful ESL instruction techniques, planning for successful secondary ESL programs for English language learners, and incorporating native languages in the curriculums.
