| Body | From: http://www.ncela.gwu.edu/enews/2005/0524.htm#SummerInstitute Summer Academy for Future Bilingual/ESL Teachers University of North Texas Denton, TX June 7-10, 2005 The University of North Texas's (UNT's) College of Education will be holding a Summer Academy for Future Bilingual/ESL Teachers June 7-10, 2005 at UNT's campus. During the academy, high school students will go through an intensive orientation program, will learn about the need for ESL/bilingual teachers in Texas, the nature of teaching to ESL/bilingual students, and about the curriculum, and will work with "master teachers" to develop a workable lesson plan for ESL/bilingual instruction. In order to qualify for the program, teachers and guidance counselors must identify and make recommendations for potential candidates, and each candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
