| Title | Integrating Spanish Instruction with Content |
| Body | A recent request on the FLTEACH listserv for ideas for integrating Spanish and content instruction received the following reply. ---- I just completed preparing a multimedia unit for my seventh graders that focuses on a school theme. Within it I teach the kids some different content-area mini-lessons within the target language. Some excellent Latin American educator resource web sites include the following: http://redescolar.ilce.edu.mx (Educator resource site in Mexico) http://www.rena.e12.ve/index.html (Venezuela) http://www.redescolar.com.ar (Argentina) http://www.mecd.gob.ni (NIcaraguan Department of Education, Sports, and Culture) What I like about using these sites is that not only are they excellent lesson plan sites, but they provide great insight into what Latino students are learning -- good authentic and relevant info for my middle schoolers to see what their counterparts are doing.
