This blog post advocates for the use of performance tasks involving active communication with multilingual language learners (MLLs) in STEM courses. It stresses the social and cognitive benefits of meaningful communication with peers and the importance of giving MLLs opportunities to showcase what they understand in open-ended tasks that allow for learner-centered approaches to the construction of knowledge.
