This article reviews scientific research related to the bilingual reading brain and how transfer and translanguaging can be employed to increase reading abilities. The author first defines transfer and translanguaging and then discusses how in bilingual and/or dual-language programs, these methods are requisite. The author also provides a list of ways that educators can leverage these methods.
